Echoes of Eden

Earlier this year I wrote the lyrics to this song, "The Echoes of Eden".  It is probably my best attempt at songwriting (not saying much). In Biblical Theology Class today with Dr. Morales, I was reminded of this song as he talked about Edenic patterns in the Tabernacle etc. The thoughts of Eden that prompted this song ran through my mind again.
A note about the music:  I regret to say I have no audio recording of this song, nor presently any plans of making one.  Basically, this tune is Celtic in nature, with a rising and falling cadence, a high pitch, ideally violin+flute like melody. In short think "Danny Boy" and "Minstrel Boy" and you've got it.
However, I have decided to format it more like a poem so that all have to do is read it and (hopefully) fall in with the cadence.

The Echoes of Eden

There are echoes of Eden
in the tapestry of time
Of Yahweh’s Holy Mountain,
And of paradise sublime
And there’s a longing for Eden,
and the world that was before
For the day when Eden’s echoes are
not echoes any more

On Eden's mountain long ago
God placed a garden as man's home
Then in this paradise of God
Man was placed, God's praise to laud.
But evil reared its ugly head
Man did as the serpent bid
From the garden he was cast
But there are echoes of Eden
And the paradise that was
In babbling brooks, in the meadow land
Which groan beneath the curse.
But there’s a longing for Eden,
For the world that was before
For the day when Eden’s echoes are
not echoes anymore

In another garden, Eden's King
Was taken by His enemies
And beaten ‘til His blood ran free
Then nailed with spikes to a bloody tree.
The sacrifice yet to be paid
Was met in full, that awesome day
On the Tree of Life died red
And there are echoes of Eden,
In Almighty love revealed
In the blood that flows in rivers down
The cross on Calvary’s hill
Yet we’re still longing for Eden
and the world that was before
For the day when Eden’s echoes are
not echoes any more.

Like Eden’s eastern gate was closed
Across His tomb a stone was rolled
‘Til light burst through that glorious day
From Shoel’s depth, alive He came!
The Conqueror of death was He
Now and always Eden’s King
And paradise He will restore!
And now the echoes of Eden
Are soon to disappear
From the Empty tomb of Jesus,
See the Sabbath day is near
Yet we're still longing for Eden,
And the world that was before
For the day when Eden's echoes are
Not echoes anymore.

"For the day shall come
When every knee and tongue
Shall bow and call Him Lord
And in that day, it will be said
That the Echoes of Eden
Are drowned amid the roar
Of a million blaring trumpets
At the coming of the Lord
And the longing for Eden,
For the world that was before
Has been satisfied in fullness, and
The echoes are no more
